The Lowdown - In 1920s Mexico a general is pulled out of retirement to take down a cut throat government.

The Buzz? If the body count and bloodshed is kept to a minimum, this could be a May-December romance film of the summer.

 


Snow White and the Huntsman (Universal Pictures)

Starring: Chris Hemsworth, Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron, Ray Winstone, Ian McShane

The Lowdown - Dark retelling centers on the Huntsman's conversion from would-be assassin to protector and mentor of Snow White.

The Buzz? If you like your princesses with a dash of emo and a dollop of kick-buttedness, this should rise above the current glut of reworked fairy tales.

The Lowdown – Mankind’s beginning is the subject of a space expedition that quickly evolves into a race to save the human race.

The Buzz? Scott has hinted that his return to Sci-Fi is somehow linked to Ripley and his acclaimed 1979 masterpiece Alien.

The Buzz? 13 year old boys rejoice. Sandler has found a worthy sidekick. Watching him torment his Samberg is worth the price of admission (11am matinee)

The Lowdown – Having recently moved to Paris, a down and out American writer begins an affair that leads to a string of mysterious deaths.
