This show made the list on the strength of potential, as its first season was hit or miss. Those who wondered whether a spotty but sometimes snappy show could coalesce into more cogent comedy will be disappointed by this sophomoric effort. Season 2 adds Reagan's (Christina Applegate) brother Scott to the fray, thus falling victim to the misbegotten culinary strategy of trying to add ingredients until it starts to taste good. Anything done that way is bound to leave a sour taste in your mouth. If Christina Applegate and Maya Rudolph can't make it work, it's probably a flawed recipe.
