Nancy becomes an informant for the Securities and Exchange Commission. Silas receives an ominous warning from some rival sellers and Shane's internship leads him to repairing a rift between a father and his son.
Cell Block Sisters
Nancy's greatest weakness has always been her penchant for getting romantically attached to controlling lovers, and it looks like that hasn't changed with Zoya's return from prison. Zoya introduces herself in this episode by seducing Nancy at knifepoint and, predictably enough, forces herself into a business partnership with Nancy by the episode's end. Oh Nancy, when will you ever learn?
She Does Have a Type
In her attempt to squeal on her employers' shady accounting practices, Nancy ends up going out on a date with Clive, the CEO of Vehement Capital Partners. The company is a Ponzi scheme masquerading as a hedge fund. The SEC sends Nancy in with a wire and, sure, we're supposed to think that she's just going to rat on him, but he's a good-looking middle-aged guy who's been engaging in semi-witty banter with her for the better part of three episodes. They're probably going to get married.
Love Bites
Our hero's as popular as ever this week. Nancy attempts to juggle three different love interests but manages to find herself in a room with all of them by the episode's end. In addition to the aforementioned Zoya, the other two are Zoya's brother, an arms and drugs trafficker, and Clive, the CEO of Vehement Capital Partners, a hedge fund doubling as a Ponzi scheme. By the way, the inevitably scandalous conversation that this group of characters is going to have? It's being recorded by the SEC, who now seems to be aware of Nancy's drug dealing ways.
Kills Germs Fast
Shane follows Detective Ouellette around for his internship. Instead of staking out perps or shaking down rackets or what have you, Ouellette has Shane running personal errands for him, such as using Shane to help him reconnect with an estranged stepson. Shane, having lost his father, naturally finds a kindred spirit in the alcoholic, Listerine-swilling detective. Unfortunately, this episode doesn't really do much to cover this arc, because Nancy, like always, has to be the center of attention.
Weeds Returns to Its Roots?
The show seems to be falling back into a familiar pattern again. Nancy has a problem. Nancy attempts to solve problem by selling weed. Nancy has trouble selling weed. Nancy becomes romantically attached with someone who helps her sell the weed, but then that person becomes trouble themselves so law enforcement becomes involved. It's a decent episode following a tired formula, but if you're still watching by now, then the next episode seems like it'll have some points of interest for you.
