When Max (Kat Dennings) and Caroline (Beth Behrs) take on an extra job as cleaning ladies, Max begins to suspect that Caroline is holding her back. Could there be trouble in paradise for our 2 Broke Girls?
The Clean Team
Sophie (Jennifer Coolidge) and her nondescript Eastern European accent show up at the diner. Ah, so this is a recurring character. I kinda thought they milked the not-madam storyline for all it was worth last episode. Max and Caroline tell her they want to work for her cleaning company. Caroline wants to do it for money to pay for their website and Max wants to do it because she likes "rummaging through strangers' medicine cabinets." Yup, sounds about right.
There's No "I" in Clean
First Sophie tells them they have the job if they want it ("It's cleaning toilets. You in or out?"), but then for some unexplained reason she changes her mind and tells them they have to audition. By cleaning her apartment. Yeah, Sophie just wants a free apartment cleaning. Smart woman. Whereas Max is a cleaning superstar, Caroline cleans "like a rich girl." Sophie gives them the job anyway, even though she thinks Max could make much more money on her own. But Max insists they're a team.
Dress Code?
They go to clean a guy named Big Bill's house. I'm assuming he's called that because his name is Bill and, well, he's big. Max and Caroline show up wearing jewelry and heels, with their hair looking all pretty. To clean an apartment. Right. They also have absolutely no cleaning supplies. Caroline flushes a whole roll of paper towels down the toilet and overflows the thing. Later, she burns their batch of cupcakes, and Max starts to realize that Sophie was right -- she might be better off without Caroline holding her back.
How to Save a Life
Next, they go to clean an Abercrombie model's apartment. He's a total idiot (spells "dude" d-o-o-d) but he's gorgeous so it's OK. He's also asleep. While at the apartment, Max confesses her feelings to Caroline and they get in a huge fight. But the argument is cut short when they realize that the Abercrombie model might actually be dead. Caroline totally saves his life and she and Max make up and all is right with the world again.
