Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! Love is in the air! Jewelry has been bought! Flowers and candy are flying off the shelves! Now aside from all of the consumerism that goes on with Valentine's Day, let us remember that it is a day for love. A day that many people choose to take advantage of and pop the question. These TV characters may not have proposed on V-Day, but their proposals sure were adorable. Let's take a look at some of our most favorite TV marriage proposals ever.

Homer and Marge on The Simpsons

The Sitch: A little ways into the 3rd season of The Simpsons, we got a flashback into the lives of Homer and Marge in 1980. While working at a mini-golf course, Homer discovers that his then-girlfriend Marge might be pregnant.

The Hitch: After confirmation of the incoming baby, Homer proposes in their car using a fried onion ring in lieu of an engagement ring. Marge happily accepts and yet, a few moments later, asks if she can remove it because the grease is burning her fingers. Awww.

Charlotte and Harry on Sex and the City

The Sitch: Charlotte (Kristin Davis) was prepping for her marriage to Harry (Evan Handler) by spending time converting to Judaism. That didn't help out so well when they broke up for a short while.

The Hitch: Harry had it in the bag all along. He surprised Charlotte at a singles mixer she was attending, got down on one knee, and gave her the mushy, princess proposal she was waiting for.

Hilary and Trevor on The Fresh Prince of Bel Air

The Sitch: Speaking of princesses, the eldest Banks daughter Hilary (Karyn Parsons) seemed to have finally found a boy worthy enough to marry: Trevor (played by guest star Brian Stokes Mitchell), a rich, famous and handsome news anchor.

The Hitch: Trevor decided upon a pretty lavish proposal that... sadly didn't work out so well. He decided to pop the question on live TV whilst bungee jumping. Before he could get out "Will you marry me," slammed into the ground and died. Pretty sad. Pretty hilarious. Still one of the best.

Denny and Izzie on Grey's Anatomy

The Sitch: Tall, dark, and handsome patient Denny (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) fell head over heels for surgical intern Izzie (Katherine Heigl). She fell hard for him as well, despite the fact that he was... ya know... dying of an insane heart defect.

The Hitch: The most adorable thing about Denny's deathbed proposal was the fact that he did it because he felt he finally had a choice in his life, and he was choosing Izzie. Unfortunately, after serious scandal, drama and organ stealing, Denny didn't even make it. Cue the tissues.

Jim and Pam on The Office

The Sitch: We kind of knew it should happen with these two Office cuties from the get-go. After Pam's (Jenna Fischer) failed engagement to Roy, co-worker Jim (John Krasinski) basically began to confess his undying love to try and convince her to go out with him. A little strong?

The Hitch: Knowing now that Jim bought an engagement ring for Pam after their first date is adorable. But his plans went a little too far. He tried to plan a whole shebang with fireworks and all, but ended up proposing in a convenience store. Fittingly, the simplicity and genuine romance was perfectly fine with Pam.

Monica and Chandler on Friends

The Sitch: Monica (Courtney Cox) and Chandler (Matthew Perry) began dating and fell in love after a one-night fling in London over Ross's wedding weekend.

The Hitch: Leave it to Monica to be the control freak. After playing a silly game of back and forth involving Richard (Tom Selleck) and potentially scaring each other off, Monica finally popped the question to Chandler. Though the cuteness and emotion ran so high, she couldn't really finish, and the whole thing sort of turned into this adorable mutual proposal. Waaay better than any Ross and Rachel moment.
