It is that time, once again, for the reality recap of the past week. There are so many contenders, each with their own arguably worthwhile experiences to be shared, yet only a few stand out from the last few days. New beginnings seems a suitable theme as individuals enter new ventures on reality television. The Bad Girls Club welcomes a fresh face in Las Vegas, The Voice brings a hard-working young man to the limelight and Project Runway: All Stars brings a first to the franchise, taking the seven remaining contestants to Broadway.
Six Against One
The race for Head Witch -- replace the "w" with a "b" and you should be able to see where I'm going with this -- is well underway in the Bad Girls Club mansion. Erica, Gia and the twins Dani and Gabi successfully kicked Jenna out of the house last week. Amy and Demitra can only agree to go with the flow of things, since they were busy partying when all hell broke loose.
But there have to be seven girls in the house, right? Yes, Elease ... poor Elease. Things got bad for her before they even began. The witchy mentality quickly spreads around the mansion by way of liquor-stained breath before Elease's heels grace those front steps.
The original six lock the front door, throw the girl's mattress into the pool, then when Elease finally finds her way inside, no one says a word to her. From there they leave her at a lame Vegas party and they all get into one huge and hard-to-watch fight, six on one, when she finally gets back. This was all the first night!
The Monkey Wrench Thrown
James Massone is a 23-year-old Bostonian. I know that isn't anything spectacular, but his determination to find a new profession sure is. The world will surely know James thanks to The Voice. A young man who works in his family's auto shop dreams of becoming a successful singer.
His audition blows the celebrity coaches away, especially Adam Levine, of Maroon 5 fame. "He's white!" You see, James is undoubtedly Italian even though his-light skinned complexion may suggest otherwise, but singing Drake's "Find Your Love" shows that he has something special. Rhythm and soul. It seems a match made in heaven that he picks Team Cee-Lo Green.
Raise the Curtains
It's been a very long time coming, but the all-star season of Project Runway has finally hit Broadway! Shimmy those jazz hands, folks, because fashion never looked so good. Plus, winner of the first-ever Project Runway challenge, Austin Scarlett, never looked so excited, exclaiming, "They make magic here!"
In honor of the 40th anniversary of the musical Godspell, the designers throw together a costume for one of the characters of the show who is described as being "rich." Here's the catch, though ... she's supposed to look as if she found her outfit at the thrift store. This is exactly why I write and don't sew.
In the end, Mondo Guerra wins the opportunity to see his design live and onstage. Unfortunately, Kara Janx, the Queen of Worries, cries her last tear while making her all-star exit.
