It's Buddy's birthday, so Allison is in the mood to celebrate with a birthday cake. It's not exactly the best thing to do to such strict dieters, but that was her point. The contestants are quickly asked to enter their second temptation challenge of the season. The person who chooses to eat the most will be responsible for rearranging the teams. However, the obvious catch-22 is that will someone be so desperate to win this challenge that they'll jeopardize their weight loss.
Risk vs. Reward
Buddy shows his hand as apparently being a Biggest Loser historian citing Michael from season 9's gng ho approach at this same stage of that season. It would seem to me that in the 3 minutes allotted, it would be good to avoid carby foods that would take more time to get chewed and inhaled. It's got to be a matter of speed and strategy over actual cravings. That's exactly what Daphne did successfully. Mark by far made the lamest choice of the venison steak that he even admitted really isn't that unhealthy. If you're going to blow your diet why not have a little more fun doing it?
Daphne Makes a Bad Call
Daphne won the temptation challenge and got the chance to rearrange the teams. She could have pulled together all of the people that have lost the most weight or the people who are the most athletic for the physical challenges. But rather than any of that, she simply swapped Jeremy from her team to get Conda from the red. Conda is a terrible player and person that diseased the red team all season and now gets the chance to infect the black team. It was a very short-sighted move from Daphne that probably won't result in the payback she hopes.
The Redesigned Teams Take to the Scales
Jeremy comes out of the gate swinging for his new team losing 11 pounds. The red team goes on to put up an exceptional number, buoyed by the fact they have three guys to the black team's mere one. The black team has to lose over 50 pounds to beat their opponent and it's far too much to ask for. However, Daphne believes that there's something more sinister afoot. It's her belief that the black team is throwing the challenge as payback for her team shuffling. She may well be correct, but the team compositions aren't doing them any favors.
Conda proves to be the genesis of the idea for the black team to throw the challenge. She even goes as far as gaining a pound, because there's truly little doubt at this point she's interested in being on a reality show way more than she is losing weight. Daphne's gaining of two pounds shows how much she had already disconnected from her commitment to the game. Conda gets to skate by again for another week as the black team sent Daphne home.
