Metta World Peace/Ron Artest
I think I was probably the only person that didn't hear about this until the tip-off series last Christmas. Everyone's favorite man-child Ron Artest legally changed his name to Metta World Peace this off season and...well...there's not much more I can manage to use to describe this. I'll try though -- the professional athlete most remembered for running into the stands to violently attack an inebriated fan after all hell broke loose in a 2004 game has changed his name to "World Peace." Oh, and he raps.
World Peace already had his own reality show in 2010, and his ex-wife is a cast member on VH1's Basketball Wives: LA. But what I want to see most is everything that has happened since the day they first replaced his jersey with "Artest" on the back to this extremely awkward locker room admission.
