Thanks to viral videos, you can now throw out all of your own boring home movies and watch someone else's! Here are some of the most popular videos on the web this week (that I'm allowed to share on a family-friendly site)...
The Bigger They Are...
I like Jeff Van Gundy. Not sure that I'd want him coaching my team, but then again my team is the New Jersey Nets, and I'm not sure anyone would want to coach them. While this isn't a soccer-level flop, Van Gundy is dead-on about the concept. With instant replay and YouTube, players should be shamed by flopping. But since shame isn't doing its job, let's just go with fines.
"Like" This
Ellen and Jimmy Kimmel are the two hosts that use YouTube the best. They're just constantly going viral -- and here's another pretty good and original one from Ellen. I like to think that I'm a pretty clever fella, and I also like to think that I exhibit that on Facebook (friend me and judge!), but these guys and gals have some pretty good retorts themselves. If you post a stupid status, you should be prepared for the backlash.
Drama Queens
I can definitely appreciate a clever ad campaign -- and this one is pretty original. Now, to be fair, I don't think I can name one show that's on TNT that is not basketball, but I'll take their word on this. Unfortunately, I think their online ad campaign may be better than their nightly lineup. One thing though: the car coming tearing around the corner pulling the e-brake... coming a little close to the button-pushers, no?
Rock of Ages
This is just neat. Nursing homes are the single most depressing places on Earth, so just seeing a moment like this should make anyone smile. It's pretty incredible the transformation in Henry's mood and cognitive abilities before and after the music. If only every nurse cared so much in reality. But still, my final goal in life is to not die in a nursing home, music or no music.
Let's Kick It
Soccer videos are always going extremely viral -- maybe that's because the rest of the world hasn't seen football yet. I won't show the recent video of the soccer player collapsing and dying -- even I have my limits -- so here's a replacement. This is pretty skillful and all, but I also think the dancing was a little taunting, and the guy who tripped him definitely shouldn't have gotten red carded. He should have gotten high fives all around.
So that's what I have for you -- but what did you think? Which of these is your favorite? And what videos did you find on the Internet this week?
