In tonight's episode, Birkhoff (Aaron Stanford) makes a mistake that sends Percy (Xander Berkeley) after him and it is up to Nikita (Maggie Q) to save Birkhoff's life.

Million Dollar Loss

Nikita decides to go after Percy through his finances, so she sets her sights on the man who manages Percy's money, Ian Damascus. In order to get a meeting with Damascus, they will need 20 million dollars and Nikita knows someone who has access to that kind of money -- Birkhoff. But Birkhoff will not part with his money unless Nikita takes him on the mission, so she reluctantly agrees. As it turns out, Damascus is stealing his clients' money and giving it over to someone who is working for Division. Damascus is killed by Roan and Nikita's people get into a shoot-out with Damascus' men. During the gun-battle, Birkhoff freezes when he has to shoot someone and Nikita is hit.

Birkhoff Breaks Away

After the failed mission, Nikita and Birkhoff get into a fight over the lost money and Birkhoff decides to take a little breather from Team Nikita until he can get his money back. Birkhoff then uses his old hacker ways to try and steal more money, but he is caught by the police. When Nikita realizes Birkhoff has been arrested, she knows she has to save him before Division picks him up. Unfortunately, this means Alex (Lyndsy Fonseca) and Michael (Shane West) have to go after the stolen money on their own.

Things Go Boom

Nikita grabs Birkhoff from the police station, but on their way out, they are accosted by Division agents. In the ensuing battle, Birkhoff is once again given an opportunity to help Nikita by shooting one of their foes and this time he does not hesitate. With Birkhoff back in the mix, Alex and Michael are able to track down the truck that is moving the stolen money over to Division. But by the time they get there, Division agents are closing in on their position so their only choice is to destroy the money in order to keep Percy from getting his hands on it. Birkhoff willingly sacrifices his money along with Percy's so their team can get a much-needed win.

Happy Endings?

Percy seems rather okay with his lost money and arranges a meeting with a mysterious man. Percy tells the man he could be a vital member of the man's group and the audience is left wondering what Percy's new plan is.

Back at Team Nikita HQ, Birkhoff thanks Nikita for saving his life and Nikita reminds him that he is a valuable member of her team. Alex and Michael return home and Alex has a surprise for Birkhoff -- a check for one million dollars to help recoup his losses. They all joke around while viewers wonder just how much longer our team can stay together when their enemies are constantly pursuing them from all sides.
