I enjoyed seeing the two remaining contestants on each of the four coaching teams sing tonight. Usually, we've been hearing from only two teams on Monday performance nights. The only trouble is, I think that at least two of my favorites may be in trouble as there were just so many wow performances tonight!
We like you, we really like you
I try not to look at Christina's ridiculous tiara crown and fishnets outfit and focus on Tony Lucca on Team Adam singing "How Do You Like Me Now?" The audience really likes him and give Tony a standing O to prove it. The coaches give Tony great reviews too. I can't deny Tony's talent, but he's just not one of my favorites in this competition.
Enough to squeak by?
Erin Willett on Team Blake performs "Without You" and I wish she didn't hit the squeaky notes she did. The coaches give her positive, but not terrific comments like they did for Tony. Blake still comments that Erin has a strong voice. Yeah, but she should have used it tonight, Blake. Burn!
Mann, you are good!
Chris Mann on Team Christina makes a smart move by not trying to get away from the fact that he loves opera and is darned good at singing it. Chris does a beautiful, wonderful version of "Ave Maria" and wows everyone.
Yes, I know you can sing
One of my favorites on The Voice this season, Jamar Rogers on Team Cee Lo, does a power packed rendition of "If You Don't Know Me By Now." The audience screams for him afterward and that is a very good sign since it was a very slow song! I feel pretty confident that America, or at least Cee Lo, will keep Jamar on Tuesday night's results show.
Paul has it all
After Team Adam and Team Cee Lo share the stage to perform "All the Things I've Done" by The Killers, Jermaine Paul on Team Blake sings "With Open Arms." It's yet another awesome performance tonight and Blake cannot say enough good things about Jermaine's singing. The other coaches are all impressed too.
Kat fell a little flat
Oh no! With all of the stunning performances by members of all four teams tonight, Katrina Parker on Team Adam could have done better. Still, I'm hoping she'll be staying after Tuesday's results as there is so much potential with her voice. Blake is still agreeing with me on the quality of Kat's voice too. Adam says he loved the performace which is good.
Here's the skinny
Lindsey Pavao on Team Christina sings "Skinny Love," but she doesn't add enough meat on the bones of this song for me. It's too bad as I like Lindsey's performances usually. Cee Lo mentions a "shyness" in her voice and no matter how he tries to be tactful, it just can't be a positive thing!
Super wow!
I guess they were saving the best for last since Juliet Simms on Team Cee Lo follows up a performace by Teams Christina and Blake doing Lady Gaga's "The Edge of Glory" with a brilliant singing job! The coaches and the audience are impressed big time and I think it's pretty safe to predict Juliet's safety after Tuesday night. Then again, America doesn't always get it right.
Who do you think should go to the finals on The Voice?
