This was a fun episode of How I Met Your Mother that was a little shocking since it seems Lily's in labor five weeks early. This is how the show ended, so that's all we know and maybe it could turn out to be false labor, but so far, it doesn't seem like it. In other happenings, Barney tries to help Ted get over Robin but oddly it's Marshall Barney takes to Atlantic City, not Ted!
Baby shower after the fact
Ted didn't want to run into Robin at Lily's baby shower, so he strolls in with his stroller gift after the fact. Lily and Marshall now have two stroller shower gifts since Robin brought a red one and Ted's is blue. In a flashback - what else on this show? -- we see Barney make a fool of himself trying to defend his stripper girlfriend. By the way, the words "stripper girlfriend" would make for a good drinking game phrase in this episode as I counted at least seven references of it before I decided to stop counting or risk my sanity.
No I'm not controlling at all
Barney won't leave Ted alone about dating other girls to stop thinking about Robin. Why then, does Barney fix Ted up with a girl named Robin? She is a blonde, but on his date with her, Ted sees his brunette Robin's face only. Barney also gets Ted into online dating, but makes a fake profile complete with an anchor woman's from ESPN's photo. Barney does it to check Ted's dating style which he says is stupid since Ted invites women to a game of mini golf.
Congratulations, it's a watermelon
Even though Lily's due date is five weeks away, Marshall is obsessed with setting up an alarm system and practices by dressing up a watermelon as a baby. Chillaxed, easy going Lily tells Marshall to take it easy cuz really all you have to do is watch babies and feed them spaghetti. Uh .. no! Lily signs them up for Baby Boot Camp and hope this is only real in sit-com worlds!
A real, but fake job
Suit loving Barney looks strange walking down the street with his blonde bimbo, jean and white t-shirt wearing girlfriend. He's getting more and more embarrassed that she's a stripper, so he makes up the position at his work of Executive Strategy Coordinator at whatever her stripping salary is, but no she says. The only cage she'll be placed in is the cardboard one on her stripping stage. I laugh at that.
Atlantic City here we come
In an odd scene, Marshall is in the passenger seat with Lily driving and dozes off only to wake up in Barney's car heading toward Atlantic City. Yeah, it can happen. (Well, no, but in sit-com flashback land, yes it can.) Barney and Marshall get drunk - well, really it's Marshall who gets hammered. It's Barney who ignores his cell phone messages.
Out of area
Even easygoing Lily is starting to freak after she leaves 17 phone messages and Marshall or even Barney doesn't call her back after she repeats she's in labor!
We have to wait until next week to find out if it's baby time for Lily and Marshall. Overall, I'm loving the storyline. What do you think about this season of How I Met Your Mother?
