As this live semi-final elimination gets underway, I'm nervous for my favorites like Katrina and Lindsey. After so many contestants knocking their songs out of the vocal park last night, it may be game over for anyone who was even a little foul sounding. After all, four people will be sent packing and there are only eight contestants at the start of the show tonight.
Chris and Chris?
After a really easy on the ears opening number by Dia Frampton with Kid Cudi on "Don't Kick the Chair," it's time to find out who's staying with Coach Christina. Each coach gets 100 points to distribute between his or her two remaining contestants and Christina gives Chris Mann and Lindsey Pavao each 50 points. Then America's votes are added to each score to determine who's staying. Not surprisingly to me, America picks Chris as they've only picked the guys so far this season!
Cee Lo performs well with Vicci Martinez. Their stage performance is both fun and entertaining. It looks weird to see him in a conservative suit and her decked out in leather though. When it's Coach Adam's turn to distribute his 100 points, he gives Katrina Parker 40 and Tony Lucca 60 with the reasoning that he has a better coach "connection" with Tony. I have to say goodbye to my Kat Parker when America's vote sends her home and keeps Tony. Do give up your day job still, Katrina!
It's Erin Willett's birthday and oh, it has gotta suck to get voted off of a big competition on your birthday. The little cupcake she gets backstage isn't gonna help that. But, it seems almost like Erin's expecting it because she's running against Jermaine and everyone's been raving about his performance since last night. I'm glad that Coach Blake at least gives them a 50 - 50 point distribution. America's votes officially make Jermaine the winner though, so bye bye birthday girl.
The guest performances end with Javier Colon, a Team Adam winner of last season's The Voice, playing the piano and singing. Soon it's time for the last elimination of the night - a Team Cee Lo member. This is a tough one for me as I like both Jamar Rogers and Juliet Simms. Coach Cee Lo gives Jamar 60 and Julete 40 points, so I'm fully expecting America to keep with its track record of only picking male contestants to continue on ... But, wow! Somehow, it's Juliete who wins! That's a nice surprise, but I feel a little sorry for Jamar.
Do you think America got it right tonight on The Voice?
