Hey, Checklisters! See how I wasn't kidding about May Sweeps? Last week some of our favorite dramas took big hits. This week a ton of our beloved comedies are coming to a close for the season. Here's what to watch this week!
How I Met Your Mother Season Finale 5/14, 8/7c, CBS
The seventh season ends with Lily (Alyson Hannigan) heading into labor, while Marshall (Jason Segel) is partying it up in Atlantic City, N.J. Then, with a big time jump, we're at... BARNEY'S WEDDING?!
America's Got Talent Season Premiere, 5/14, 8/7c, NBC
Shock jock Howard Stern joins the judging panel this season. I'm guessing he's going to be wildly offensive, really inconsiderate and totally unqualified. So basically... himself.
NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs Varies, check local listings, NBCSN, NBC, CNBC, RDS, TSN
It's Round 3, and we're down to the New York Rangers versus the New Jersey Devils and the L.A. Kings versus the Phoenix Coyotes. I'm not sure about those West Coast games, but the N.Y. vs. Jersey matchup might just result in a few ruffled feathers, and perhaps a gaudy reality show?
Glee Season Finale 5/15, 8/7c, FOX
Nationals and graduation both arrive in this 2-hour season finale. I just hope that Quinn (Dianna Agron)'s lame car wreck/wheelchair storyline comes to an end. Speaking of wrecks, Lindsay Lohan is guest-starring as a Nationals judge!
Around the World in 80 Plates 5/16, 10/9c, Bravo
If Top Chef didn't have you drooling all over your TV, this new food-loving show from Bravo ought to get your taste buds working as well. Tonight, the 11 chefs arrive in the French countryside to practice the art of Bistro cuisine.
Suburgatory Season Finale 5/16, 8:30/7:30, ABC
What have you guys thought about this fledgling comedy's first season? I thought it had its ups and downs, but the charming performance by Jane Levy as Tessa will make me interested enough to check out next season.
Independent Lens 5/17, PBS, Check Local Listings
This "Precious Knowledge" special focuses on the very hot-button subject of an Arizona bill that would abolish ethnic studies programs in public schools. Students and teachers of a Mexican American program at Tuscon High School discuss the issue.
