Madonna vs the Fans

Madonna is on the receiving end of some scathing reviews of her performance on her MDNA tour. Vogue Italia recently published a report from a recent show, claiming that at moments the audience booed and hissed, and that Madonna herself may have lip synched her tunes. "Everything is meticulously calculated and bears little resemblance to what we would normally call a 'concert,' including some suspiciously pristine vocals in the middle of very choreography-heavy songs."

Madonna recently came under fire for covering Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" during her live show -- a subtle claim that Gaga had initially ripped off Madonna's 1989 hit "Express Yourself." It seems the fans aren't taking well to this tired jab: "Even her tongue-in-cheek, passive-aggressive insertion of 'Born this Way' into 'Express Yourself' only served to remind us of how Lady Gaga's affectionate, generous approach to live performance is her most valuable asset...Gaga gets smacked upside the head by a giant bar and soldiers on through the rest of the gig; Madonna sees a flag land on the stage at her feet and kicks it back down," Vogue published. "And there, children, lies all the difference in the world."
