Thanks to viral videos, you can now throw out all of your own boring home movies and watch someone else's! Here are some of the most popular videos on the web this week (that I'm allowed to share on a family-friendly site)
Car Flip
You see kids, we didn't always have Facebook and Xbox 360 and Angry Birds. There was a time when you had to bring imagination to cheap toys. Back in those days, we played with two things: G.I. Joe and Hot Wheels. This traditional Hot Wheels track was intimdating and a challenge to pull off when it was for toys; built to human scale it's completely unfathomable. Is it me, or do you get nervous watching this becuase it looks like they haven't gathered enough speed to make the loop? I guess they're using some special physics here that I forgot about since 12th grade physics.
Olympic Dive
Youch. Well that sucks. I don't know though if the term "falls hard" makes much sense here when we're discussing padding on top of other padding -- but I'm sure it doesn't feel good. I'm amazed this doesn't happen more often actually. I could never do the uneven bars, for a variety of reasons. Some of those reasons include a total lack of upper body strength, and also the fact that my stomach gets queasy after too generous a push on the swings.
We All Scream For Ice Cream
Sometimes I have to break my own policy against sharing these YouTube series videos. Times like that include funny videos featuring delicious ice cream treats. Also it gives me the opportunity to rave about the new Mint Chocolate Chip Klondike Bars. Now, I've yet to have one, but there's no way that they are not delicious right? What would I do for a Mint Chocolate Chip Klondike Bar? Probably just add it to my girlfriend's Cozi shopping list.
Complaints Department
Pretty good video here -- the secretary (er, receptionist) is excellent. They do a nice job touching on a combination of general YouTube clichés and smashing some specific idiots that have a little too much of a regular online viral video presence. For some reason, when I make fun of these people, I get lit up in the comments section. But in this case, throw a few hot chicks on camera and some cameos and we're talking a heck of a lot more "Likes" than "Dislikes".
Call You Crazy
I made it more weeks than I thought without having to review a "Call Me Maybe" parody. Unfortunately a deadly combination of a slow holiday week, an overwhelming number of these videos out there, and 13 million views made me break my own personal goal. That and the fact that the "Epic Shake Weight Prank" is probably not appropriate here. I honestly don't get the popularity here. Cute girl, decent lyrics I guess -- but let's not kick Weird Al to the curb just yet
So that's what I have for you but what did you think? Which of these is your favorite? And what videos did you find on the Internet this week?
