The 2012 Olympics are almost upon us, and with things about to get crazy in London, what better way to celebrate than by commemorating some of the funniest moments of Olympics-mockery ever put on television? Saturday Night Live has done its fair share of parodying the big games, and these five skits are all worthy of gold medals.
Space Olympics
Well, say what you want about Andy Samberg: the guy either goes big or goes home. This music video about Olympic games being held in space features Samberg in baroque costumes and makeup right out of The Hunger Games, while he sings (in the most aggressive Auto-Tune you've ever heard) about the various contests that are being held in zero gravity. Most competitions are just regular Olympic events with "space" after them -- space swords, space luge, and so on. Unfortunately, all of those events -- which sound quite appealing! -- are canceled because someone "who will not be named" (i.e. Andy) hit the self-destruct button on the spaceship by mistake. Yikes. Blink and you'll miss a funny cameo from Michael Phelps.
