The happiest comedy geek news of the week is that Hulu is producing a new series of The Thick of It, the great BBC comedy that spun off the equally hilarious feature, In the Loop. Here's the other big news.
Fixing Fantastic
Fox seems to be in a big hurry to get their Fantastic Four reboot off the ground. They hired hot writer Jeremy Slater (the upcoming teen comedy, My Spy) and Josh Trank, whose Chronicle was a surprise hit, to direct, in rapid succession. Can a decent movie be made from this beloved Marvel Comics property? Previous efforts, including the dumb, cheesy Jessica Alba/Michael Chiklis films, have stunk. It's possible that Thing and the gang are just too "fantastic" to be convincingly translated to the big screen in a live action film.
