Ever lose your sense of smell? It's not such a big deal for humans, but for dogs it's another story -- another hilarious story from Wilfred.

Living In The Moment

Ryan (Elijah Wood) gladly accepts an investment opportunity that can do no wrong from his work friend Kevin (Rob Riggle). Meanwhile, Wilfred (Jason Gann) terrifies Ryan by pointing a gun at him and threatening to kill him -- only to drop the act and explain that he's just trying to teach Ryan how to live in the moment. When Ryan and Wilfred get robbed by some thugs moments later, it makes for the episode's most absurd and funny moment.

Oh Nose!

After the robbery, a terrified, traumatized Wilfred finds that he has lost what makes him a true canine -- his sense of smell. Without it, he begins taking on more intellectual interests. When Kevin's investment opportunity comes through for Ryan, it's Wilfred who tells Ryan not to go through with it, as the investment would be for a huge shopping mall that would decimate a local dog park. But when Ryan refuses, Wilfred's sudden shift to a dog with a political conscience is obviously out of character, but a talented actor, Gann makes it work -- and more importantly, makes it funny.

Too Much Neglect

Utterly depressed by Ryan's investment decision, Wilfred becomes a nihilist, losing all interest in performing his regular dog duties. When Ryan gets two phone calls from Wilfred, he ignores them -- but when he realizes this deal is making him lose sight of the value of his relationship with Wilfred, he leaves to make sure Wilfred is okay. In fact, Wilfred is despondent and threatening to jump off the roof of Ryan's house. He does, and in a hilarious bit, Ryan performs CPR to resuscitate him. Luckily, the unscathed dog has now regained his sense of smell -- and regular personality.

Wilfred just continues to impress from week to week, and while it probably will never reach the comedic heights of FX's reigning champion, Louie. How is Season 2 stacking up so far? Do you think the specifically dog-related humor can stretch the show out for several seasons, or will it cap with two?
