Damn it. Damn it. Just when I thought I'd had enough of drunken, underwear swimming. Ed and his unlikely partner, nosy, interfering Jacyln? I end up rooting for them both. Yes,tonight's Bachelor Pad was just that good.
Nut sack races
First though, we have a crazy obstacle competition. The contestants must make themselves into sundaes by swimming through ice cream and whipped cream, climbing up a wall of fudge and pouring nuts on their heads. Chris Harrison cheerfully says "nut sack" several times as he directs the men in races. Yeah, okay, whatever, Chris.
There will be four couples competing. It's a step to the left to find out who your partner will be. Sarah laughs herself silly when Kalon ends up with Erica. Yeah, well Erica is typically the worst girl at these kinds of races. Sarah ends up with Michael, so she's happy about it. Jamie isn't screaming for ice cream, since she'spaired with Ed who is typically the worst guy racer.
Get over yourself
Ed actually is right up there with Michael and David for the win, then slips in the fudge sauce and can't get up while everyone else passes him/. So Ed and Jamie finish last. In a photo finish, David edges Michael by a nose. So that means David's partner Rachel also wins.
Superfan David gets all conceited after that saying that he's not just a fan anymore. He's a strong competitor who could win this game. Earth to David -- you won one little competition by a nose climbing up a wall of fudge sauce. It's not like you won a gold medal in the Olympic men's triathlon.
This snake is an ass
Knowing that Ed is down a point and also down thinking he's going home since he lost last week's competition as well, Reid has the nerve to get all buddy buddy with Ed. He tells Ed that the girls are voting Chris off this week (as if!) and Ed doesn't have a thing to worry about. Besides, I'm you're old pal even though you took Jillian from me on 'The Bachelorette.'
Then, Reid tries to rally the girls to vote out Ed. Sarah is reluctant to do this again and tells Ed wabout Reid's scheme. Ed feels "betrayed" because he really thought Reid was his bud. Reid, confusing himself with master manipulator Dr. Will on Big Brother, then approaches Jaclyn, Ed's partner, to tell her that Ed will be voted out and ask her to join forces with him. Is he nuts? Jaclyn cries at the betrayal of Ed by slippery Reid and for the first time, I like this chick.
Jaclyn also goes to tell a really pissed off, "disappointed," Ed what Reid tried to do, and also vows to make sure that all the girls vote off Reid. Ed makes a big splash by confronting Reid about his dishonesty and disloyalty in the pool with many of the other contestants there to witness this. Yay!
Meanwhile, I freak out a little
I'm shocked to find out that Lindzi is all snuggly in bed with Kalon. Of all of the guys there, she, with her leggy model good looks, picks this obnoxious guy who's just been flying so low under the radar on Bachelor Pad that no one can see it. Barf. She could do so much better.
Three on one dates
"Hot Sludge Fun Day" competition winners David and Rachel select three contestants to take on their three-on-one dates. Rachel chooses Nick, Tony and Michael, but she really only wants Michael as does half of America it seems. They follow a red carpet into a wax museum and a wax Chris Harrison -- no a real Chris Harrison who made Michael pee his pants a little -- greets them. The four Bachelor Pad contestants also fake being wax figures to scare museum visitors. Later, Michael and Rachel kiss.
For David's date with Blakeley, Erica and Jamie, it's a cheesy prom theme with a gazillion blue balloons and gross prom dresses with pink and blue lame accents. Jamie gets the blue one, Blakeley wears the pink one and Erica lucks out and scores a decent, light yellow short dress without lame. Jamie scores the most attention from David though, plus the coveted rose which Blakely gives David nothing but grief about.
Beautiful goodbye
Chris Harrison gathers everyone for the Rose Ceremony and it's tense. Which of the many alliances in the "pad" will win out? I'm hoping Honest Ed will stay and that Loyal Jaclyn helped swing over the needed votes. Meanwhile, Blakeley is nervous that she'sgoing to be voted out for the girls. Little SuperFan Donna, looks like Little Girl Lost as he stands there awaiting her fate.
In the end, it's Donna and Blakeley left for the girls and Ed and Reid standing there for the guys. Blakeley stays and Donna goes home with her memories. I try not to bite my nails too see if Ed is staying. He is and it's beautiful! Reid tries to act all cool and scoffthat "It's just a game." Yeah, snake in the grass -- a game that you lost!
Were you thrilled to see Reid and Donna go, or would you have rather seen a different goodbye scenario on this week's Bachelor Pad?
