We have come to a point in Hollywood where 3D movies are more than an occasional change of pace. If you're hitting the cineplex in the summer, you may have to go out of your way to find the biggest blockbusters in two wallet-friendly dimensions. Some of these flicks may be worth the extra dough, but here are six of the worst 3D films that cashed in on summer audiences.
The Final Destination, 2009
Let's not pretend that the Final Destination series was ever trying to be anything other than gory, gimmicky fun. But where the first few films actually managed to build a reasonable amount of suspense leading up to the creative death scenes, what we have here is a series of brainless characters stumbling into gruesome accidents framed specifically for "eye-popping 3D." And yet -- gasp! -- somehow the film managed to bring in the most cash for the series. Surely it had nothing to do with the inflated ticket price...
