Head Over Heels
With Erica and Mike playing out their limbo in the house, she continues to pine for Kevin, who wants nothing to do with her. We've only seen them share a drunken kiss in Week 2. Ever since then, Kevin's been friendly to her, but in no way has he showed any romantic interest -- nor has he even been leading her on.
So it's pretty sad and pathetic to see her continue to be so obsessed with him. She finds out Kevin has a five-year friend with benefits back home, and she's upset. The rest of the house decides to get her drunk because drunk Erica means a hysterical Erica. It's totally mean that everyone is in on it, and yes, it's predictable but it doesn't mean it's any less funny. She's totally blinded by her feelings for Kevin, who is pretty direct in that he's only there to play a game.
The Final Four
Mike is eliminated from the game, which is not a surprise, pitting a duel between Andrea, Jeffrey, Kevin and Andrea. The four take part in a puzzle challenge where they have to take a every piece across the yard while harnessed. You'd think that Jeffrey would be more comfortable in the harness after winning the competition last week -- but nope. He's about as dramatic as every, screaming and yelling every time there isn't anything underneath him supporting his feet. He sounds like he's in absolute agony. But he manages to hit his button first! Give him credit, he's a fierce competitor and has won every competition he's participated in.
But this time, he falls short, getting two pieces wrong. Andrea finishes at the same time and wins! This guarantees her a spot in the final three.
Down to Three
With Andrea safe, the viewers had been voting throughout the week on which one would go home. After Erica is deemed safe, it's between Jeffrey and Kevin -- and Jeffrey is eliminated. Not surprising considering he was the bottom two last week, but I was thinking maybe Kevin could be perceived as a villain for whatever he has going on with Erica.
The three are then put through some pretty awkward moments having to watch themselves in moments where they thought the camera weren't rolling. They're all moments about Erica and her feelings for Kevin, surprise surprise.
And the Winner Is ...
Sometime after this -- I have no idea if it's later that day or the next day because SO much is being packed into this finale, Erica, Kevin and Andrea get all fancied up and are surprised with a huge audience that includes their families, and also Jeffrey and Mike. I have no idea where this is being held, but it's right outside the house. The three give a final speech about how they played their hearts out.
The three throw their final stones at giant faces of themselves ... and Kevin wins!
No Strategy = No Fun
So the police officer from Toledo emerges as America's favorite. I thought any of the three were worthy of the money. A game/reality show like this is tough to watch because there's no strategy involved whatsoever! It's not the fault of the players. The cast was actually pretty great, but they all had similar outgoing, social personalities.
But at the end of the day, while it's fun to vote for the outcome of the game, it doesn't make for much entertainment if there's no strategy or game play.
