Chris and Sheila vowed to spend Ernie's first Thanksgiving together and Sheila decided she could use the opportunity to win over Chris' friends who cannot stand her. Sheila planned an extravagant affair that would make Martha Stewart envious. Chris warned her that if she overdid it, it might not go as she planned.

Sheila Plans an Historically Accurate Thanksgiving Feast
With the gang agreeing to enjoy Thanksgiving at Sheila's, the crowd was disappointed to discover that Sheila was only serving foods the pilgrims and Native Americans ate. She boiled fish, served maple syrup and hickory nuts and refused to serve alcohol. Marny and Gary's boys devised several schemes to get rid of the food. They put oat rolls in Sheila's heating vents, dumped the soup in the flowerpots and put the food in the bathroom trash can. Soon, the adults followed suit and were getting rid of their meals. Finally, Nick and Emily remembered they had pounds of stuffing in the fridge. They smuggled the stuffing along with alcohol back to the party and Sheila caught everyone eating and drinking.
Gary Meets Emmitt Smith in a Black Friday Line at Wal-Mart
Gary's decision to wait in a Wal-Mart line for a great deal on a normally priced $4,000 television caused stress for Marny. She decided to take the boys to Sheila's and left Gary in the cold. It was Gary's first time in a Black Friday line and he wasn't sure what to expect. He met Emmitt Smith who was preparing for the race to the television section. Gary concocted a plan to ensure Emmitt wouldn't beat everyone to the televisions. When the doors opened, Gary's boys raced straight to Emmitt and grabbed hold of his legs.
The funniest moment was when they zoomed in on Gary freezing in line with socks on his hands, writing a letter to Marny.
Sheila Freaks Out
Those who watch Guys with Kids understand the dynamics between Sheila and the gang. No one likes Sheila and she really wanted to change their opinion of her. She was unaware of how unhappy everyone was at her Thanksgiving dinner and was oblivious to how much they hated the food. She freaked out when she caught them shoveling stuffing in their mouths and chugging wine from Nick and Emily's bag.
When Sheila realized that everyone hated the food, she grabbed the tablecloth with all of the food and threw it off the balcony. The kids loved her freak-out session and shouted, "That was awesome!"
Sheila was worried that they would write her off and talk about her behind her back. Emily assured her they wouldn't reject her and Nick pointed out that they don't talk about her behind her back, but rather to her face.
While Sheila tried to give credit to Chris' friends for their laid-back attitudes, she inadvertently insulted them. Marny recognized that she should spend Thanksgiving with Gary and the crowd went to Wal-Mart.
Sheila made up for the horrible Thanksgiving dinner by purchasing Subway sandwiches for everyone. She left the receipt so everyone could pay her back later.
Gary was successful and was one of the lucky few to get a big-screen television set.
