Dexter (Showtime, 2006)

Dexter is written in such a way that not only do you identify with a serial killer (Michael C. Hall), you root for him. When he gets in to situations where he may get caught, the tension you feel is palpable. Ultimately, we continue to tune in to see whether or not Dexter Morgan can evolve from an emotionless psychopath to a "normal" human being.  The story centers on Dexter’s family (Jennifer Carpenter, James Remar) and coworkers at the fictional Miami Metro Police Department (Lauren Vélez, David Zayas).

On Dexter, love is as thick as blood and last week it was everywhere. Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) loves Dex (Michael C. Hall), Sirko (Ray Stevenson) still pines for Baskov (Enver Gjokaj), and Dex has it bad for Hannah McKay (Yvonne Strahovski). So who will be true and who will be betrayed?

Dexter, Starring Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter, airs Sundays at 9:00pm EST on Showtime.

Ukrainian Tango

Sirko's Koshka pals have sent two dudes to slay him. So how does he deal? Why, he calls on Dex for help, of course, offering to spare him if Dex helps him fight back. No can do. So he kidnaps Hannah, which proves persuasive. Guess that's the art of the deal in Kiev.

Marina Mayhem

Ever since she found the blood slide at the Travis Marshall (Colin Hanks) crime scene, María LaGuerta (Lauren Vélez) has been circling back to the Bay Harbor Butcher case in the hopes of exonerating her old pal, Doakes (Erik King). She's so convinced the Butcher lives, she even calls on Deputy Chief Matthews (Geoff Pierson), whom she blackmailed out of office. Very cold. He offers to help if she'll push for his reinstatement. Why does he want back in? His boat is expensive.

Southern Comfort

Sure, Hannah is chained and under watch and key, but it doesn't mean she can't work her charms. Before you can say, "you're kidding," she talks Sirko's henchman into picking green tomatoes for her to fry up. Next thing you know, he's getting cracked in the skull, and stabbing her on the way down. Don't worry. She ain't dead yet. Deb arrives just in time on a hunch.

Dead Men Tell No Tales

Sure, it's easy to confide in someone who's about to kill you. What could be more intimate? But the bonding knows no bounds between Dex and Sirko, who solidify a bromance while tracking Sirko's hit men. They make a great team, but it's all cut short by George Novikov, (Jason Gedrick), who shoots Sirko. Sirko's last wish is to be buried with Baskov in the deep blue sea. And he manages to give him more brotherly advice in the short trip out there than any family member over the last seven seasons.

So maybe Sirko wasn't so bad after all? Well, if you're marking on a curve, which only seems fair. It is Dexter after all.
