The show wasted no time eliminating the contestant with the lowest number of votes, leaving the next two acts with the fewest votes to sing for survival. Paige Thomas took a gamble last night as she ignored Demi's advice and went with her gut. She was eliminated first. Vino Alan was next to be voted off the show.

X Factor features judges Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato, Britney Spears and L.A. Reid and airs on FOX Thursday nights at 8:00 pm ET.

Paige Thomas Is First Cut

Paige Thomas was the first to be eliminated. Though I was all in favor of Demi's team finding their own voices, something with Paige's performance last night didn't jive with home viewers. She wanted to show that she could sing and dance; however, she failed to do so impressively. While some in the audience as well as Mario Lopez acted as if Paige's elimination was a huge shocker, it wasn't. The real surprise was that CeCe Frey made it another week.

CeCe Frey Survives Another Week

On last night's X Factor, L.A. Reid told CeCe Frey she was going down and earlier said her train had passed. Simon Cowell advised her to pack her suitcase because she was going home. CeCe's burlesque number must have resulted in plenty of home viewers' votes because she survived another week, making it to the top six.

There's something to be said about CeCe lasting longer than Paige Thomas, as the two were highly competitive from the beginning of the competition.

How CeCe fares next week, remains to be seen.

Alicia Keys Performs "This Girl is on Fire"

There's no doubt that the highlight of the evening was Alicia Keys' live performance of "This Girl is on Fire." Alicia took center stage and brought the house down. We also learned that since the X Factor aired Britney Spears’ new video with Will.I.Am last night, the song has moved to number one. X Factor is great publicity and now that we are this far in the competition we can expect to see more chart-topping performances from guest acts.

Vino and Diamond White are the Bottom Two: Battle for Survival

Vino Alan and Diamond White were the bottom two contestants and battled for survival. I wasn't surprised to see either there. I'm tired of hearing Diamond White perform Whitney's classics and Vino Alan is so much better than the performance he gave last night. Diamond is a little powerhouse, but please, can we move past the Whitney comparisons? It isn't a smart strategy to begin with and I really don't think she sings Whitney that well. Maybe that's why Diamond has yet to break into the top of the leader board.

It seems to me that a better move is to take a song that is performed below a singer's ability, that way they can bring their magic to it. By singing songs from divas each week, how can you not be compared to the greats? I mean, you really need to bring it if you're going to constantly perform Celine, Mariah, Christina or Whitney. Why not take a song and turn it into something spectacular to prove you're a powerhouse?

Vino selected a horrible song last night and he could have done so much better. He truly is a soulful artist that deserved to stay in the competition. What in the world was L.A. Reid thinking by giving him that horrendous song? I thought that Vino out sang Diamond during the sing off and was surprised that the judges eliminated the tattooed, soul man rather than Diamond.

Here is the order of the top six according to viewer votes.

1. Carly Rose Sonenclar

2. Tate Stevens

3. Emblem 3

4. Fifth Harmony

5. CeCe Frey

6. Diamond White

What did you think about tonight's double eliminations? Do you agree with the judges' decision to send Vino home? What were your views on Paige Thomas' performance last night?
