Creator and actor Seth MacFarlane and Wendy Schaal fall short on the comedy scale in tonight's episode of American Dad. Francine is forced to revisit a dark secret from her past and we discover that she once fell down a well. Unfortunately, the comedy in tonight’s episode must have been hidden deep in that well, as it failed to surface.

Francine Finds Fame
Like any beginning to an all-American household day, the family sits watching the morning show. The two rather high-pitched male hosts introduce their favorite subject of holes as a lead-in to an incident that happened 35 years ago. Apparently the mother, Francine, has been hiding a secret that haunts her to this day. After falling down a well she had been rescued by a brave firefighter named Henry.
The kids trick her with waffles to appear on the Morning Glory show. The hometown is planning a celebration to honor who they remember as Baby Franny. Come speech time, Francine freezes up in embarrassment. The firefighter died so that she could live and now she doesn't want to admit to the world that she has done nothing meaningful with her life.
Stan and Roger Go Into Business Together
Meanwhile in the other brief storyline, Stan Smith walks through the living room wearing only his underwear and shoes. Roger the Alien points out how odd and unfair it is that women look hot naked in shoes yet men just look stupid. Their solution to this injustice is to create male stripper shoes. Quickly throwing together a shoe design they seek out a businessman to loan them the money to make a prototype of the shoe. The lender agrees to the loan if they kill his wife. Of course, he steals their idea and uses their design for his own line of stripper shoes.
Welcome Back Henry
Fast forward 35 years and there stands the news media and onlookers ready for grown up Baby Franny's speech. Rather than face the music, she again panics and falls back into the deep dark well. Incredibly she finds a deathly, skinny old figure of a man named Henry, the firefighter. Obviously not yet ready for society. he promptly eats his wife's nose off and runs. Francine makes it her mission in life to help him be normal again. Within days he runs for his life and jumps back down to the familiar well. As she had promised him, she tosses a tasteful photograph of her breasts every single week. Ironically she keeps that promise having no idea that Henry had died instantly after leaping head first into the dry well.
