Cameras are close to every word the girls say, and they all know they're in the spotlight. Not only are they hoping to find that perfect love, they are there to spend every ounce of energy trying to impress their hopeful prince. Each girl comes with perfectly placed make up and smiles they hope will light up a heart, they all compete for the prize of a ring. They will start with hoping for just one thing – that all-important red rose.

The Bachelor hosted by Chris Harrison airs on ABC Mondays at 9:00 pm ET.

Sara Takes the First Date Plunge

Sara gets chosen for the very first date with Sean Lowe. Feeling confident that he won't treat her differently just because she has one arm, she is full of smiles and confidence. Commending her for her courage after he learns about her missing arm, Sean knows she can handle a wild date.

Arriving in a helicopter for the date, he takes her for a flight around Los Angeles that ends on the top of a building. There, waiting below is a bottle of champagne to be toasted to a triumph; the triumph of plunging 360 feet down the side of the glass building. Arms intertwined they jump off the ledge together. The date ends with an evening of wine while she tells a touching story. Recently she had been denied a zip line trip because of her disability and this date means a lot of Sara.

Harlequin Honnies

Thirteen women join Sean at a gorgeous Beverly Hills house for a photo shoot to see who will win a deal to appear on three Harlequin romance novel covers. Lesley and Kristy stir up hard feelings as they try to sneak in that important kiss. In the end, it is no surprise that the model, Ashley, ends up winning the contract. Yet all she hopes for is that the contract is followed by a rose. At the after party, sparks fly and feelings are hurt as the girls naturally start to distance themselves from each other in the competition.

One Down

The negative energy mixed with fake smiles is too much to handle for one lovely bachelorette. Sweet, yoga girl Katie expresses how uncomfortable she is in these conditions and tells Sean that this is the end for her. She knows that this is not the place to find love and tells him goodbye. They agree that Katie is the sweetest girl who just is not cut out for this type of competition. No doubt every one of the girls breathe a big sigh of relief.

Cruel Intentions

Desiree scores the next date card and host Chris Harrison sets up the evening out. In a cruel joke, with a room full of expensive art, one piece comes crashing down to make Desiree think it is her fault. Sean hopes it will define her character, as he wants to be married not only to his best friend, but someone with a sense of humor. Feeling guilty that he is such a bad person for tricking her, he hopes for the best. Of course she proves what a good sport she is and the evening ends up with a Jacuzzi, champagne, and a shirtless Sean.

Roses and Goodbyes

Host Chris Harrison addresses the anxious girls dressed up and hopeful for the rose. Sarah, Desiree and Kacie already hold their rose and smile with confidence. Sean enters the room and says he is so optimistic that his wife will be waiting for him at the end of this. Tan and beautiful girls await that flower and it comes down to three girls who remain rose-less. The final rose is presented to Amanda, and a total of four girls pack their things and head home.
