Whitney

A couple worries their relationship is starting to lack romance and fun, so they try to spice things up.

Premiered in: 2011

Main Cast: Whitney Cummings, Chris D'Elia, Zoe Lister-Jones, Maulik Pancholy

Authentically Chicago? Not really, other than some of the characters wearing Chicago Blackhawks jerseys and watching the game.

Alex and Whitney got more than they bargained for when they agreed to a reunion with Whit's former boyfriend Nate. Though Nate was an alcoholic and treated Whitney poorly during their relationship, she soon realized little had changed with his sobriety.

Whitney starring Whitney Cummings and Chris D'Elia airs on NBC Wednesdays at 8:00 pm ET.

Whitney and Nate: The Reunion

Though Alex (Chris D'Elia) was reluctant, he agreed for Whitney (Whitney Cummings) to reunite with her ex-boyfriend Nate, who wanted to make amends for the way he treated her during their relationship. Nate was an alcoholic and the amends was a step in his sobriety. Whitney was more than excited to finally get the apology she deserved. Things quickly took a turn for the worst, however, as when Nate arrived he began insulting Whitney repeatedly.

Mark and Roxanne Continue to Flirt

There has been plenty of heat between Mark (Dan O’Brien) and Roxanne (Rhea Seehorn) and after she spent the night in his apartment, it seems Mark is ready to take their relationship to the next level. While it is clear that Roxanne drinks too much, Mark – now that he owns a bar- has taken it upon himself to regulate Roxanne's drinking. Mark switched Roxanne's drinks and ensured she had plenty of electrolytes. By the end of the evening, Roxanne had drunk her fill but without the usual side effects she normally experiences. R.J. pointed out that the two of them are terrible at flirting.

Nate Disses Lily

There may not have been anyone as excited to see Nate than Lily. Lily revealed that she had a drunken fling with Nate (whom she referred to as Nathan), and that she lived with Whitney and Nate during their relationship. Unfortunately for Lily, Nate had no recollection of her and never remembered her throughout the entire episode. Lily credited the dismissal to the fact she had bangs and now wore her hair one length.

Alex Defends Whitney

At first, Whitney was relaxed and calm while she and Nate sat in the bar and enjoyed lunch. Though Whitney expected a very long apology from Nate, she accepted the fact that he had written down his apology on a piece of paper. The apology went well, but shortly after saying he was sorry, Nate began to insult Whitney. He informed her that he had borrowed $400 for his father's funeral, but that his parents were still alive and said that he had lied when he said Whitney's vehicle had been stolen. Instead, he gave Whitney's car to a model he was dating. To make the wounds more painful, he stated that he was never attracted to Whitney in the first place.

Whitney had as much of Nate's insults as she could bear and jumped up, beat him with a straw, then shoved his sandwich in his mouth.

Alex came to Whitney's rescue and stopped the attack. Nate, however, insulted Alex before walking out the door, leaving both Alex and Whitney distressed by the meeting and how it ended. Though Whitney encouraged Alex to let it go, Alex wanted Nate to make amends to him. They went to Nate's place of employment but Nate refused to apologize. Alex got the final say before he and Whitney returned home and confirmed they were soul mates.
