John Leguizamo Pilot Headed to ABC
It looks like John Leguizamo is trying to get in on the comedy game. With such illustrious credits to his name as The Pest and Spawn -- okay fine, the guy's done some good work as well -- the actor has co-created and will star in a new half-hour comedy based on Leguizamo's own life as a husband, father, actor and comedian. I'm assuming that he's shooting for something resembling the success of Louie -- but let's be realistic here, since the untitled pilot will air on ABC.

Odette Annable Plays Love Interest for New Girl's Nick
Okay for real, how long is FOX's New Girl going to string out this Nick (Jake Johnson) and Jess (Zooey Deschanel) will-they, won't-they romance? Apparently for at least a while, since the beautiful House alum Odette Annable is about to pop up this season as Shane, Nick's new boss at the bar who takes a liking to our lovable, doofy bartender. Then again, it's probably smart to keep the mystery going; we've all seen what's happened to The Office since the Jim and Pam tension fizzled out.

Parks and Recreation Snags J.K. Simmons as Mayor
The consistently wonderful J.K. Simmons (otherwise known as the single best element of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy), is lined up to appear on an upcoming episode of Parks and Recreation as the mayor of Partridge, Minn., a town once governed by Ben (Adam Scott). Sure, I can't think of a single time when I haven't seen Simmons portray a gruff, tell-it-like-it-is sort of fellow, but sometimes there's absolutely nothing wrong with playing to your type.
Breaking Bad's Anna Gunn Leads Bravo Drama Rita
With Bryan Cranston blowing up in Hollywood and Betsy Brandt starring opposite Michael J. Fox this Fall, another Breaking Bad vet has found her next project: Anna Gunn has signed on for the title role in one of Bravo's first-ever scripted dramas, Rita. The show will follow a bold private school teacher as she grapples with the ridiculous parents at her school while raising her own set of teenagers. Gunn has knocked it out of the park for every episode of Breaking Bad, so we hope this new project sticks.
