Not every Hollywood starlet wants to hook up with a movie screen hunk. Sometimes they want their love to be a little more lyrical. The trend of actresses dating musicians seems to be going strong, whether it's a TV ingenue or an Oscar-nominated star. Here are just a few of the couples currently making beautiful music together:
After her marriage to Tom Cruise ended in divorce, Nicole Kidman might have been looking for someone a bit more exciting... and a bit taller. Enter country star Keith Urban, who swept Kidman off her feet and off to the Country Music Awards. The two have since married and had two daughters. So not all country songs have a sad ending!
Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin are like the king and queen of Hollywood-musician romantic alliances. The two married in 2003 and have been together ever since, famously naming their first child Apple. Perhaps the secret of martial bliss is something Paltrow can share with her website readers on Goop.
Carey Mulligan and Marcus Mumford
Marcus Mumford must be feeling on top of the world. His band, Mumford and Sons, just took home Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards. Also he's married to the beautiful Carey Mulligan, who will show up soon in The Great Gatsby as the unreachable literary golden girl Daisy Buchanan. Mulligan and Mumford tied the knot last April after being engaged for less than a year and dating only a few months. But supposedly they've known each other for years and were childhood pen pals in London.
Lena Dunham and Jack Antonoff
While critics and viewers seem to be constantly questioning the choices Lena Dunham makes on her HBO sitcom Girls, there's no questioning she and Fun. guitarist Jack Antonoff make a cute couple. The two have been enjoying each other and also a whole lot of critical success. In addition to Antonoff's Grammy win, he was in the audience when Dunham won big for Girls at the Golden Globes.
They might seem like an odd couple, but the marriage between actress Mandy Moore and singer Ryan Adams is going strong. Perhaps that's because Moore can really understand Adam's musical side, having a music career herself. The former pop starlet turned more towards the world of acting, but that doesn't mean she can't still croon. In fact, Ryan and Moore are planning to release a studio album together some time this year. How's that for making sweet music together?
