Whitney's father came to visit and gave her $5,000. Alex encouraged her to use the money to promote her art, but instead, Whitney gave it to Lily.

Whitney starring Whitney Cummings and Chris D'Elia airs on NBC Wednesdays at 8:00 pm ET.

Whitney's Father Comes to Town

Whitney (Whitney Cummings) and Alex (Chris D'Elia) gave up their apprehension about her dad's visit and trusted him when he said he changed. He arrived saying he had stopped making bad investments and even gave Whitney a gift of $5,000. Played by Peter Gallagher, Whitney’s dad Vince pretended that he had become successful and changed his ways. Whitney was doubtful at first and held the bills up to the light to see if they were counterfeit.

Vince told her they weren't fake and she trusted him, happy to have her dad turn over a new leaf and give her such a wonderful gift.

Whitney Gives Lily a Gift

Alex encouraged Whitney to use the money to open an art gallery, as she has been out of work for years. Whitney revealed that she was discouraged by some of the remarks others have left on her photographs and decided to give the money to Lily instead. Alex appeared disappointed that Whitney gave up the money so easily, but understood that it was Whitney's choice.

At first Lily refused the money then gratefully accepted the gift. She thanked Whitney for her generosity and promised to put the money to good use.

Roxanne Loses the Money

Although Lily needed the money, she decided to give it to Roxanne as she has been incredibly generous in letting Lily live with her in her time of need. Roxanne assured Lily that she would simply hold the money for her by putting it in her bank account, letting Lily use it as needed. Everything was perfect and Lily and Roxanne were both happy, until Roxanne realized she had lost the money.

Panicked, Roxanne went to the bar and told R.J. about the loss. She quickly returned home to search for the envelope containing the money, but it was nowhere in sight.

Whitney's Dad is Busted

Whitney decided to look at some of her photographs and Alex reassured her that she was a talented artist. They were interrupted when Vince came to the door to ask for the money back. He said that he simply needed to borrow it due to an emergency with one of his rental properties and would pay it back.

Whitney believed him and went to Lily to ask for the money. Lily told her that she gave the money to Roxanne, who was still flustered, looking for the missing money. Roxanne pretended she deposited the money in the bank and then agreed to write Whitney a check for $5,000. Whitney took the money back to Vince, however, she was disappointed to learn that Vince was back to his games and had been staying in a luxury suite, and had just ordered a $200 meal. After realizing how her father had used her, she decided to keep the money.

Back at the bar, Whitney gave the check to Lily, who in turn stated she wanted Mark to have the money. Meanwhile, Roxanne kept it a secret that it was really her money and let LIly invest in Mark's bar. Whitney asked Mark if she could display her artwork in the bar and had an official showing of her photographs.
